Job Description

The Department of Comparative Literature is offering a work-study position that will play a key role in the day to day office operations and be part of an experienced and professional office team. Comp Lit has a proven track record of work-study retention as our work-study employees have chosen to work with us for their entire college career. Responsibilities include but are not limited to serving at the reception desk--greeting visitors and directing them appropriately--assisting with departmental events, scanning documents and entering computer data, office supply management, break room supply management, mail pick-up and delivery, running errands, and special projects as assigned.

Educational Value

The educational value will include contact with faculty and students, office experience and knowledge of University procedures. The position will greatly enhance computer skills, interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills.

Job Requirements

Excellent verbal and communication skills, ability to work in a diverse and rapidly changing work environment. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google is helpful. May include social media and familiarity with Canva or desire to learn other design software. Must be able to transport packages to other campus buildings.
