Job Description

Job Summary: The Social Care in Chronic Disease Collaborative is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to serve as a student research assistant position on multiple projects focused on health equity in chronic disease prevention and management. The student research assistant responsibilities will primarily be to support in participant data collection including conducting study visits over the phone and/or conducting qualitative interviews, completing interview transcription, completing data entry, and supporting participant recruitment. Thorough training will be provided however, experience with qualitative interviewing desired. Experience using MS Access and/or with participant data collection are preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus. 

About Social Care in Chronic Disease Collaborative: Established in 2019, the Social Care in Chronic Disease Collaborative’s mission is to advance the science on addressing social context in chronic disease management. The collaborative engages in interdisciplinary research and evaluation, working to translate research and innovations into clinical and public health practice and policy advancement.

About the Department: The position will be based in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Equity.  Driven by a shared passion for affecting lasting change, the faculty, students and staff of HBHE work in the pursuit of an equitable, healthy future for all. Turning theory and research into actionable practice, we develop interventions and innovations that promote health, prevent disease, and empower people to manage chronic illness and disabilities. Together, our academic community transforms the theoretical into actionable, the science into the social, applying our knowledge to eliminate health disparities and impact lives for the better.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

     Performing participant recruitment and screening

     Administering consents to participants

     Scheduling interviews

     Collecting participant data including administering surveys and/or conducting qualitative interviews

     Entering data

     Completing interview transcription

     Contacting participants through the course of the study

     Maintaining a high level of organization

     Communicating effectively with team members and participants

     Other study-related tasks as needed

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour to $23.00/hour
