Do you like gardening and learning about plants? Are you detail oriented and prefer a relaxed atmosphere? We are looking for hard-workers who are dedicated to improving our client's garden spaces. Our family-owned business is willing to train. Together, with the owner and our small team, we will maintain grounds by performing a variety of tasks to maintain beautiful, well-groomed outdoor spaces for our clients. We do not mow or do heavy landscaping. Our gardens range from city lots to country settings, formal gardens to native wildflower spaces. We have a large native installation that we maintain that could be excellent for ecology/environmental students to help install and track progress. That location is diverse in species including salamanders, sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, plethora of insects, etc. 

The job has various locations in the metro area including Northville, Milford, Riverview, Allen Park, Ypsilanti, and Dearborn Heights. Must have your own reliable transportation to the locations.

The position is part-time until approximately November 1, 2025. Monday 2PM-8PM, Wednesday 2PM-8PM, Friday 9AM-12PM.

Pay: $20 per hour starting gardener. Pay advancements are possible based on performance and experience.

Essential Functions:

• Daily use of hand tools such as pruners, shovels, rakes, pruning saws, bed edgers, hedge trimmers, weeders, and wheelbarrows safely and effectively in order to maintain client gardens.
• Watering of plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
• Frequent pruning or trimming of shrubs and hedges, using shears and pruners.
• Planting and removing annuals, perennials, shrubs, vegetable gardens, native plant installations, and occasionally trees. Harvesting cut flowers.
• Gathering and removing litter.
• Interacting with clients in a professional and friendly manner and relaying of any needs to the business owner.
• Client privacy and confidentiality is essential.
• Must have reliable transportation and an ability to commute to different client locations such as Northville, Milford, Riverview, Allen Park, Dearborn Heights, and Ypsilanti.

• Ability to be exposed to hazardous physical conditions (i.e., domestic and wild animals, vibration, etc.), poor atmospheric conditions (i.e., odors, dust), and occasional intense noise.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions such as but not limited to extreme heat/cold, wet/humid, etc.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Must have your own reliable transportation and an ability to commute to different client locations such as Northville, Milford, Riverview, Allen Park, Dearborn Heights, and Ypsilanti.
• Must be able to work the hours of Monday 2PM-8PM, Wednesday 2PM-8PM, Friday 9AM-12PM, possible other days if needed, but would verify employee availability first.
• Part-time from approximately April 1 - October 31. Hours dependent on weather.
