Job Description

Document Delivery is looking for motivated Student Library Assistants to help us share library resources through interlibrary loan. You will use scanning technology to share articles from our collections with University of Michigan Library patrons and other libraries worldwide.

 Responsibilities include:

* producing high quality scans of library materials for interlibrary loan

* retrieving and reshelving library materials

* verifying citations

* occasionally moving heavy materials

* helping with additional services within Document Delivery

Educational Value

This position provides the opportunity for using and developing technical and library skills related to scanning, interlibrary loan, call number reading and citation reading.

Job Requirements

* Enthusiasm for library services

* Ability to learn new technology and software

* Ability to work independently and remain focused

* Attention to detail

* Knowledge of Library of Congress Classification System and Dewey Decimal System is an advantage but not required
