The Biosciences Group at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) is seeking 4-8 reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Student Research Assistants to join our dynamic team for Spring and Summer 2025. These temporary positions offer an exciting opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of our esteemed faculty and researchers. Ideal candidates will possess a strong enthusiasm for learning and commitment to contributing to the advancement of our research projects. The Student Research Assistants will work onsite approximately 20-40 hours per week. The typical work day is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with the possibility of some evenings and/or weekends, as needed. Some flexibility of the work schedule may be considered upon successful completion of the initial training period, and once the research assistant has demonstrated the ability to effectively manage the responsibilities of the role. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data processing and landmarking 3D external body shape data, segmentation and landmarking of medical image data (CT scans), assisting with human subject testing, and processing or entering test data. Research Assistants may also assist in setting up, calibrating, maintaining laboratory equipment and/or fabricating test devices. |
