Center for Campus Involvement Overview (http://campusinvolvement.umich.edu) The Center for Campus Involvement (CCI) in University Unions within Student Life at the University of Michigan is a dynamic, student-focused department that serves all undergraduate and graduate students through student programs, student services, and student development. Through meaningful involvement, CCI creates transformative experiences, a vibrant community, and lifelong memories for University of Michigan students. CCI recognizes and supports over 1,500 student organizations through education, advising, advocacy and services. CCI also implements hundreds of social, educational, cultural, and recreational programs each year, focused on building community within and beyond University Unions’ facilities. Graduate Interns report to professional staff, and are integral members of the Major Event CCI team. The Major Events intern position is rooted in Student Affairs philosophy, committed to student development, and provides valuable hands-on experience producing large and small scale events. This role will provide leadership, supervision, and direction for pre-production and day of show student and community-led events within the five major venues on campus, as well as, assist in the oversight of permitted events on the Diag and North Campus Grove. Job duties include: Meet with Student Organization and community leaders to address pre-production needs and logistic planning for theatrical productions, dance and culture shows, and speaker events. Provide on-site support within the five major venues on campus (Hill Auditorium, Mendelssohn Theatre, Powers Center for the Performing Arts, Rackham Auditorium, and Arthur Miller Theatre), as well as, on-site support for permitted events on the Diag and North Campus Grove. The position requires flexible work hours, an individual who is able to work frequent evenings and weekends. The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative environment, but also work independently and make good decisions that reflect University and Student Life policies, procedures and philosophies. Attend meetings and events related to position. Provide support to general office operations, administration, and programs in related area. Attend CCI Staff meetings (as schedule allows). Participate in departmental committees and various staff development opportunities. Additional responsibilities may include: Developing marketing and communication materials for CCI sponsored events. Expected Start/End Dates:August 11, 2025 - May 3, 2026

Job Requirements |

- Candidates must be current or prospective grad students to apply.
- Candidates must be able to interact and work effectively with students, staff, and community members. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also a necessity.
- It is preferred that candidates possess experience and interest in theatrical production as well as in college student life, either as a student leader or professional, and have good leadership and management skills.
- Successful candidates will be organized, resourceful, creative, self-motivated, flexible, responsible, reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to engage with multiple types of audiences.
