Job Description

The Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy seeks a part-time web programmer/designer for the Marketing & Communications department. This person will collaborate with the Ford School’s web designer to maintain, enhance, and develop the Ford School's websites and those of affiliated research centers. 

Educational Value

Gain experience managing a department’s website as well as experience with a complex Drupal installation and responsive design. In 2020, the Ford School launched a new website built on the latest version of Drupal, featuring a responsive theme that works seamlessly on mobile devices and tablets.  Join our team to continue to build and improve on this base. Gain experience working as a team to keep content and data updated on the site. In addition to the great learning opportunity, you will gain valuable Web design, programming, online video, search engine optimization, social media utilization, and server administration experience for a large and complex academic website, as well as have the opportunity to work on unique Web-based projects. This is a great opportunity to work on both design and code aspects of dynamic web applications in a relaxed but productive atmosphere.

Job Requirements

Drupal experience is required. Candidates should have experience using PHP/MySQL, Javascript, XML and CSS. Web video experience would be a big plus. Good Web research skills and the flexibility to learn new software are essential.
