Job Description
The Communications Assistant will support the Communications Manager with a variety of communications projects to create communication materials and promote the activities, news, and events of the Logistics, Transportation & Parking department. The Communications Assistant will assist in production and distribution of materials to the departmental website, internal partners, users of the MGoPark mobile app, and other platforms. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Responsibilities include: 
  • Assisting with creation and administering communications projects to promote activities, news, and/or events.
  • Writing and editing print-based and digital communications in collaboration with staff and various contributors.
  • Drafting emails regarding construction alerts, detours that impact parking or transit, and other updates using established templates.
  • Assisting with basic graphic design for digital and print materials.
  • Helping to coordinate and write news articles for the LTP website.

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. We are looking for a commitment of 15-20 hours per week during the academic year, with the potential for up to 40 hours per week during the summer

Job Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn, and an ability to give/receive feedback. 
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) is preferred.
  • Experience in communications, marketing, parking, transportation, or a related field is a plus.
Hourly Rate $17.00/hour to $19.00/hour
Hours 15.0 to 20.0 hours per week
