Objectives of Job

The Finance Coordinating Assistant (FCA) provides both operational and programmatic support to the Finance Department. Responsibilities range from corporate accounting, member account services, internal auditing/compliance, and generating materials (graphics, newsletters, etc) to get members engaged in ICC finances. We are looking for a member who is already familiar with the ICC’s finances, budgeting, and unique accounting challenges.

 

Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  • Run Monthly Financials – generate and review budget comparison spreadsheets, generate reports, and post relevant content on the website.

  • Work closely with the Finance Team on adhering to internal controls processes.

  • Support the Finance Team with tasks such as house closings, share returns, account reconciliations, reviewing invoices/account statements, and reviewing accounting journals.

  • Work on long term projects assigned by the Finance Department Liaison.

    • Creation of member financial literacy resources (ICC specific and general)

 

Qualifications

  • Scholastic focus on Finance / Accounting or 1 year experience as ICC House Treasurer / Finance Committee member

  • Google Suite and Excel experience

  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and complete reports

  • Ability to appropriately handle sensitive, confidential information

  • Regular availability between 9am-6pm for at least 5 hours per week for in-office work

    • Most work can be completed remotely and asynchronously, but some training and projects will require on-site work at the ICC office.

Educational Value

The employee will learn basics of non profit accounting, reporting financial results, and adhering to internal controls.
