Objectives of Job The Finance Coordinating Assistant (FCA) provides both operational and programmatic support to the Finance Department. The Inter-Cooperative Council of Ann Arbor (ICC) is a member-owned nonprofit housing cooperative, which causes the finances of the ICC to be dynamic and member driven. Our organization puts significant emphasis on keeping the cost of living competitively affordable. FCA responsibilities range from corporate accounting, member account services, internal auditing/compliance, and member education (generating graphics, newsletters, etc.) to get members engaged in ICC finances. We are looking for someone who is already familiar with the ICC’s finances, budgeting, and unique accounting challenges. This position requires a strong attention to detail, and an openness to learn complex accounting systems. Additionally, this position is considered entry-level, with great potential for building the foundational knowledge required for a career in accounting. Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities - Work closely with the Finance Team on adhering to internal controls processes such as monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card statements.
- House credit card reconciliation
- House bills approval
- Central bank account reconciliations
- Support the Finance Team with tasks such as house book closings, share returns, reviewing invoices/account statements, and reviewing accounting journals.
- Work on long term projects assigned by the Finance Department Liaison.
- Create financial literacy resources for members (ICC specific and general)
- Assist on Finance Committee projects
- Generate finance-related reports and content for the ICC website
