Learning Experience Design (LXD) Fellow 
Fall 2025 Student Fellowship Program

Location: 317 Maynard St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104 (75% in-person fellowship experience)

Pay Rate: Undergraduate $17/hr, Master’s $20/hr, Doctoral $23/hr

Job Duration: 10-15 hours/week for the fall 25 semester, with the possibility of extending the fellowship

Who we’re looking for: 

The Learning Experience Design Student Fellow works closely with the Learning Experience Design (LXD) Team within the Blended and Online Learning Design (BOLD) to support the design of engaging learning experiences for students in for-credit online courses, our Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), and other learning initiatives. Ideal candidates actively embrace challenges, demonstrate enthusiasm for innovation, and have a passion for online education. Specific requirements for this fellowship are as follows:

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Assist in the Development of Course Materials

  • Collaborate on Course Design Projects

  • Provide Support for LMS Integration 

  • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) Testing

Educational Value

The Experience And Skills You’ll Gain: 

As a Learning Experience Design Student Fellow, you will gain hands-on experience in instructional design, learning management systems, and online course development. You will develop skills in collaboration and communication while enhancing your technical proficiency in tools like Canvas and basic HTML/CSS. This role will also deepen your understanding of student-centered learning strategies and educational technology trends.

 
Job Requirements

Student Qualifications:

  • Strong Interest in Learning Design and Online Education 

  • Attention to Detail to help create consistent course designs

  • Familiarity with basic HTML to assist in course design on Learning Management Systems (LMSs)

  • Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Hourly Rate $17.05/hour to $23.00/hour
Hours 10.0 to 15.0 hours per week
Time Frame Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer
Start Date Monday, September 8, 2025
End Date At the end of the fall term, with possibility of a fellowship extension
