Job Description and Responsibilities: The Department of Theatre & Drama is looking for a passionate individual to fulfill the role of Social Media Manager for @umichtheatre on Instagram. In this position, you'll be at the forefront of the department’s online presence, engaging with the community and sharing the vibrancy of Theatre & Drama life at U-M. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Coordinating captivating student and alumni takeovers, amplifying their voices and experiences on Instagram.
• Curating compelling content featuring alumni, faculty, and student achievements and updates.
• Designing engaging images and banners to post on Instagram
• Liaising between prospective and current students, fostering connections and offering guidance through Instagram DMs.
• Championing application and admissions efforts by crafting persuasive posts and addressing inquiries from prospective students.
• Cultivating lively interactions within the University of Michigan community online, boosting engagement and expanding reach.

• Collaborating with the SMTD Marketing team on collab posts and SMTD social media best practices

• Must be currently enrolled in the Department of Theatre & Drama 

• Must have a deep investment in the U-M extended Theatre & Drama community 

• Experience with Instagram is required

• Experience with Canva is preferred

• Work study award is required at this time
