Job Description

Assist with program planning, events and provide other logistical support for the Center for Armenian Studies (CAS). Duties will include but are not limited to: creating email announcements and event flyers; flyering campus before events; preparing materials for visiting speakers; updating databases and blogs; assisting with set up and clean up for events; copying, scanning, filing, making campus deliveries; and other duties as needed.

Practical administrative experience in a fast-paced, long-established area studies center. Opportunities to learn about Armenia and the region, particularly through lectures and events, opportunity to interact with scholars and dignitaries from all around the world as well as working on special projects and programs. 

Job Requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, and G Suite. Dependable and punctual. Independence and creativity are an asset in this office as well as an interest in international events and issues. Regional language skills desirable. Students with an interest (or pursuing a degree) in Armenian or other Eurasian Studies and related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and student assistant may be asked to assist at occasional evening events. Student assistant hours are scheduled around students’ class schedule each semester.
