Department Summary The University of Michigan (UM) University Health and Counseling (UHC) (formerly University Health Service), a unit of Student Life, is an ambulatory, multispecialty health clinic that serves a diverse student body of more than 50,000 students, as well as UM faculty and staff. UHC provides clinical services throughout its primary care and numerous specialty clinics, as well as health and wellness education and promotion. As a college health center, UHC has the unique opportunity to lead research on the health and wellbeing of college students. Job Summary UHC is seeking to hire a temporary, part-time Student Research Assistant (RA) to assist with planning and implementing a qualitative research study with the possibility of participating in other research projects. The UHC RA will join a collaborative team (data analysts, administrators, clinicians, faculty, researchers) to collect, enter, analyze, communicate, and visualize clinical and public health data from a variety of data sources. Potential data sources include focus groups transcripts, qualitative interview transcripts, surveys and publicly available data sources, Shifts range from 2-8 hours in duration. Responsibilities Assist in conducting a literature review Assist in the development of study materials, including drafting communications, forms, flyers, and interview guide Assist in the recruitment of study participants, including communications and scheduling interviews Assist in conducting qualitative interviews or focus groups Assist in preparation for qualitative data analysis, including activities such as transcription, cleaning, and preparing a dataset Perform qualitative data coding Assist in drafting data reports and other written communications Assist in other health and wellness research projects with both qualitative and quantitative analyses Other duties as assigned
