Job Description

Students will primarily be responsible for in-person recruitment. This involves working directly with patients, their families or caregivers (as applicable), and clinic staff.

Key tasks include:

  • Monitoring MiChart for eligible participants
  • Coordinating enrollment with Neurologists and clinic staff
  • Approaching and informing patients about the study
  • Answering questions and obtaining informed consent
  • Registering participants
  • Entering patient information into the study database
  • Preparing biological samples for shipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Must have availability between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. There are no evening or weekend hours for this position. You must be able to attend the outpatient neurology clinic at the East Ann Arbor Health and Geriatrics Center or the A. Alfred Taubman Health Care Center. Both clinics are accessible through the University of Michigan bus routes.

Additional requirements for this position include the ability to:

  • Build trust and rapport with patients quickly and genuinely
  • Clearly communicate study information (including goals, risks, benefits, and participation requirements), answer questions, and obtain informed consent
Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
Hours 8.0 to 16.0 hours per week
