Job Description

The Department of Physics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented senior undergraduate or graduate student to assist in the development of a scholarly book in the field of ultrafast condensed matter physics. The position involves two primary responsibilities:

Permissions Management:
• Contact corresponding authors and publishers to request permission for the use of previously published figures.
• Maintain clear records of all correspondence and permissions obtained.
 
Figure Preparation and Enhancement:
• Edit and improve scientific figures for clarity and consistency, including redrawing or reformatting as needed.
• Ensure figures meet publication quality standards and align with the book’s overall style.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Strong written communication skills (for professional correspondence).
• Basic familiarity with scientific literature and citation practices.
• Experience with graphic software (e.g., Illustrator, Inkscape, MATLAB, or similar tools).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Background in physics or a related field is preferred.
 
Time Commitment:
• Part-time, flexible hours (approximately 5–10 hours per week).
• Limited remote or hybrid work options within the United States may be possible.
