Job Description

The Department of Physics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented senior undergraduate or graduate student to assist in the development of a scholarly book in the field of ultrafast condensed matter physics. The position involves two primary responsibilities:

Permissions Management:
Contact corresponding authors and publishers to request permission for the use of previously published figures.
Maintain clear records of all correspondence and permissions obtained.
 
Figure Preparation and Enhancement:
Edit and improve scientific figures for clarity and consistency, including redrawing or reformatting as needed.
Ensure figures meet publication quality standards and align with the book’s overall style.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Strong written communication skills (for professional correspondence).
Basic familiarity with scientific literature and citation practices.
Experience with graphic software (e.g., Illustrator, Inkscape, MATLAB, or similar tools).
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Background in physics or a related field is preferred.
 
Time Commitment:
Part-time, flexible hours (approximately 5–10 hours per week).
Limited remote or hybrid work options within the United States may be possible.
