Job Description

There is an immediate need for a part-time Assistant in Research (TEMP) to provide administrative and communications assistance for a research progam focused on sexual and reproductive health among adolescents and young adults. See youthreproequity.org for more information about our work. 

Essential Job Functions/Duties, in partnership with the supervising faculty/PI, the temp staff will:

  • Develop content for social media platforms using Canva.
  • Manage project website and conduct timely updates.
  • Draft and disseminate quarterly newsletter.
  • Support meetings by recording minutes and tracking follow-up tasks.
  • Manage file storage on Google Drive.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings for projects and partnerships.
  • Provide publication assistance, such as graphic design and citations management, for academic articles, conference presentations, and briefs.
Educational Value

Student will gain experience working with a faculty PI on a research project and strengthen skills necessary for assisting in the administrative aspect of a research project.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong comprehension of scientific literature, with the ability to identify key article takeaways and implications for public health and policy.
  • Prior experience using Canva or comparable graphic design platforms.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Robust organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated interest (academic or otherwise) in reproductive health, rights, and justice.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptive approach.

Desired Attributes & Experiences:

  • Prior experience translating academic research findings into accessible, high level summaries for lay audiences.
  • Prior experience managing an organization's social media presence.
  • Interest in health or science communications.
Hourly Rate $18.00/hour
