Job Description

The Office of the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (EVPCFO) at the University of Michigan is looking to hire a student assistant to support communications needs within the Business and Finance (B&F) organization. The person in this role will help draft messages, update communications tracking and other documents,  make updates to the B&F website, and perform other communications-related duties. This role will support the Director of Executive Communications within the Office of the EVPCFO. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and writing skills first and foremost, as well as showing strong initiative and being a good team player.

Student assistant will:

  • Gain experience working in higher education and learn about the fields of communications, marketing, and executive leadership and strategy.
  • Gain experience working within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and gain exposure to executive-level processes that span the entire institution.

  • Gain knowledge about various forms of documentation and the related procedures for gathering, storing, consolidating, and presenting information.

  • Willingness to be flexible about tasks and assignments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google workspace.
