Job Description

The U-M Anime Club has submitted Mini Grant applications in the past for support (to help members develop skills mostly and to fund social events); this is an active student group. The anime titles in the collection seem to be well-represented (heavily weighted towards Japanese titles), but no intentional assessment has been made in many years. Drawing attention to the existence of the Askwith collection, and this genre in particular, would contribute to the understanding of our collection stewardship and could feed into Phase 2 of the media services design planning. Partnership with a campus student organization and/or an art and design instructor on a programmatic event or series would demonstrate our collaboration supporting student learning, while demonstrating the Askwith Media Library mission.

Students are also required to complete this library specific application.

Educational Value

Students will engage with the Askwith Media Library collection, will assess the anime collection and make recommendations for adding to the collection and how to market it to students.
