Your application should include documentation demonstrating that you meet the qualifications listed below. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interviews will be scheduled accordingly, with an anticipated start date of September 8th. A tentative training session is scheduled for September 7th.
Position SummaryDigital Fabrication Studio Monitors support the daily operations of the Digital Fabrication Studio. Key responsibilities include: Assisting the Studio Coordinator with studio operations and equipment maintenance Providing guidance to students using the studio Operating machines on behalf of students and faculty
Monitors will be trained to use a variety of fabrication equipment, including but not limited to: Formlabs SLA 3D Printers Fuse1 SLS 3D Printer Bambu X-series FDM Printers Roland GX-400 Vinyl Cutter Roland MDX-540A 4-Axis CNC Milling Machine Shopbot PRS Alpha 4’x8’ CNC Router with Rotary Axis PLS 6.75 & ILS 12.75 Universal Laser Cutters (with rotary attachments) Barudan Embroidery Machine Rikon 10" Bandsaw Delta Drill Press
Work ScheduleThe studio operates during the following hours: Work schedules will be determined at the beginning of the semester and may include some flexibility.
QualificationsApplicants should have: A solid understanding of 3D modeling using any CAD software (Rhinoceros 3D is preferred) Experience working with vector-based design tools, particularly Adobe Illustrator
Please include with your application either: A printout of relevant coursework and course descriptions showing CAD and design experience or Examples of self-directed work demonstrating your CAD skills (acceptable file formats: .stl, .obj, .3dm, etc.)
While training on all machines will be provided, prior experience with any of the listed equipment is preferred. |
