Job Description

Student will work with lab leadership in the wet lab to build a meta-data database including information from collected patient samples. Student will also assist senior lab members with various wet lab procedures including RNA and DNA isolations, quantifications, and polymerase chain reaction amplification of products. Possible expansion into other lab associated skills possible.

Educational Value

The student will gain valuable skills important for a future career in wet and/or dry lab research. This includes experience with human metabolic disease-related research. They will learn valuable molecular biological associated techniques as well as be exposed to computational programming, bioinformatic analysis, and machine learning.

Job Requirements

Prior completion of one or more college-level biology/chemistry classes. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate with mentor when concerns or errors arise. Comfortable working partially independent after a training period.
