The Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center (MHWFAC) is looking for a temporary research laboratoryassistant to work 10-12 hours/week.
Candidate will obtain basic understanding of the operations of a research lab and the importance of proper organization of materials and cleanliness required for experiments. This job involves cleaning, wrapping, labeling and sterilizing glassware and consumable plastics for biological and chemical labs; restocking supplies, identifying supply shortfalls, and inventorying consumables; preparing simple buffers and operating the UltraPure water system; and disposing of refuse. This position also requires doing organizational tasks, such as preparing test kits and assembling informational packets, along with other duties as assigned.
Gaining knowledge of laboratory research and providing critical support to laboratory operations in a research environment.
High school diploma with some high school level classes in chemistry or biology.
