About the Position: The Events and Partnerships Graduate Student Coordinator will assist the Program Manager for Events & Partnerships in leading and supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of Spectrum Center’s core programming including (but not limited to) LGBT History Month, Trans Awareness Month, Lavender Graduation, and Pride Month. Job Responsibilities Programs and Events (50%) Assist the Program Manager for Events and Partnerships (E&P) in planning and publicizing programs and events, including Spectrum Center Programming Board (SCPB), Support Services and Wellness and overall Spectrum Center initiatives. Assist in coordinating campus-wide LGBTQIA2S+ events in collaboration with student organizations and other campus and community constituents, including Multi-Ethnic Student Association (MESA) and Trotter Multicultural Center. Serve as a co-chair alongside the Program Manager for E&P on the LGBT History Month, Trans Awareness Month, Pride Month Committee.
Outreach (35%) Coordinate and manage tabling engagements and outreach for the Center in collaboration with campus partners and local organizations. Maintain record of current and active LGBTQIA2S+ specific clubs and organizations on Maize Pages. Work with the Program Manager to develop & head efforts to support the Queer and Trans Campus Collective (QTCC) member organizations in their individual initiatives, such as collaboration and promoting events. Aid the Program Manager for E&P in their work to support the various LGBTQIA2S+ serving organizations on campus.
All staff responsibilities (15%) Provide front desk coverage for approximately 5-6 hours per week. Support Spectrum Center tabling at outreach events 2-4 times per month according to need Attend Spectrum Center all-staff meetings. Attend Spectrum Center, Student Life, and University-wide professional development opportunities.
Miscellaneous While the aforementioned duties are the priority for this position, all staff members are expected to be available and willing to perform other duties necessary to the effective functioning of the Spectrum Center as a whole. Some evening and weekend programming is required. Compensation $19.00 per hour. Work-Study preferred. 15 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends required.
