The Science, Technology, and Public Policy (STPP) Program seeks a part-time Research Assistant 1 to work on a variety of projects throughout the semester, including promoting our work, and assistance with events. The student in this position will have the opportunity to learn about the operations of an academic program, public policy, and information and event management. As a member of the STPP team, the STPP Research Assistant will provide support in a variety of areas: - Compile print mailing for STPP faculty affiliates.
- Update mailing lists.
- Build mailing list for MiST fellowship alumni and contacts.
- Scan news and promote our work on current topics.
- Organize shared drives.
Update course information for STPP elective courses. Complete special projects as assigned. Examples of past projects include researching members of a congressional committee where the director was testifying, and searching for images for use in a research report. Helping with events.
The STPP Event/Research Assistant position requires strong attention to detail, excellent computer and keyboarding skills, and strong organizational skills. Hours averaging 5-10 hours/week at $17 - $18/hour.
