Job Description

The CSE department is seeking a RenewCS Peer mentor to meet with up with 5-6 mentees every week to help with time management, resume building, navigating imposter syndrome, and more! We are seeking compassionate individuals who are passionate about building community and creating a positive climate for all students. Students will gain experience with scheduling and running mini workshops, building rapport with their mentees, and will develop leadership and communication skills.

Educational Value

This position provides educational value through direct experience in a student-facing University role. Peer mentors will gain skills in leadership, communication, and program facilitation while supporting mentees through workshops and one-on-one guidance. The role also offers professional development in mentorship and community-building within an academic setting.

Job Requirements

- Completed EECS 183, 203, 280, and 281 with an understanding of the key concepts
- Majoring, minoring, or demonstrated interest in Computer Science
- Some familiarity or understanding of imposter syndrome and strategies to combat it
- Passionate about supporting student success

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
Hours 3.0 to 5.0 hours per week
