Job Description

Are you looking for hands-on experience in a collaborative, mission-driven environment? LSA Advancement’s stewardship team is hiring three student Program Assistants for the 2025–26 academic year. These roles offer a chance to support donor engagement efforts that celebrate and communicate the impact of philanthropy in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.

All Program Assistants will contribute to projects across our team, but each role will have a particular focus:

  • Impact Reporting (2 positions): Assist in crafting personalized donor impact reports, including writing, editing, and light graphic design using platforms like Canva. Support research efforts, storytelling, and report preparation.

  • Donor Acknowledgments & Gifts (1 position): Help coordinate donor cards, gifts, and acknowledgments; manage mailing logistics and timelines; and support database updates and tracking.

In addition to these focus areas, all Program Assistants will be cross-trained to support other stewardship projects, initiatives, and events. The position requires 10–15 hours per week, includes both in-person and remote work, and runs through the academic year.

If you’re passionate about making an impact, enjoy learning new tools, and want to contribute to meaningful donor engagement, we encourage you to apply. Feel free to indicate in your cover letter if you have a preferred focus area—or if you’re open to either!

Educational Value

This role is an excellent opportunity to apply your organizational, communication, and data skills to real-world scenarios in a professional setting.  You’ll gain exposure to the inner workings of donor relations and stewardship, learning how meaningful relationships are built and maintained in the nonprofit and higher education sectors.  With mentorship from experienced professionals, you’ll develop project management, reporting, and research skills while contributing to efforts that make a tangible difference.  This position offers the perfect blend of teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving, preparing you for a range of future career opportunities.

Job Requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience with Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools

  • Ability to manage recurring tasks independently and balance multiple projects

  • Familiarity with design software or templates (similar to Canva)

  • Strong writing and research skills

  • Interest in data-driven projects and ability to interpret data

  • Creative thinker for unique and new concepts

  • Passion for education, philanthropy, and public impact

If your experience looks a little different from what we've listed and you believe you’d be a great fit, we’d still love to hear from you!
