Job Description

The M-Sci Academy  Program Assistants (PA) work approximately 8 to 10 hours per week. The PA provides direct support to the M-Sci Academy Director on a number of projects related to the overall operation of the program. This position is supervised by the M-Sci Academy Director. The M-Sci Academy is a college transition program that is committed to assisting students in their transition to the university by providing them with academic resources and a supportive community. M-Sci has approximately 30 students in the program who live across campus. The responsibilities of the M-Sci Academy PA include: Assisting with all M-Sci Academy events and programmatic initiatives (pre-planning support, event set up, clean up, logistics support, etc.). Creating and maintaining various databases, records, and email groups. Updating M-Sci website (training provided). Curating and posting content for M-Sci social media platforms. Creating newsletters in BeeFree and surveys in Qualtrics (training provided). Assisting in tracking attendance at required events and optional programming. Some general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, supply ordering and management, organizing mailings, and program support. Other projects as assigned.

 

Educational Value

community programming. Individuals interested in higher education and student affairs/services will gain valuable experiences supporting programs and staff who work directly with undergraduate 
students.

 

Job Requirements

Must be positive, friendly, collaborative, trustworthy, self-motivated and reliable. Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills. Microsoft Office (experience with Excel strongly preferred).
Student affairs experience will be helpful but not required.

 

Hourly Rate $17.00/hour
Hours 8.0 to 10.0 hours per week
