Job Description

Do you have experience working with content management systems (Ideally WordPress), Do you enjoy developing effective websites and have an interest in UI/UX?  Do you like to constantly improve things? Would you enjoy working in a medium sized team of students redeveloping program websites? 

We maintain a team of 4-6 web developer positions supporting the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education in the College of Engineering.  We are adding 2 new students to our group starting during the current fall term and continuing through the winter semester. Working within a student team, successful candidates will train during the fall semester and work toward primary development responsibilities for all or part of websites in one of the following programs:

  • Engineering Honors Program

  • International Programs in Engineering

  • Wilson Student Team Project Center

  • ArtsEngine

  • Living Arts

  • Multidisciplinary Design Program

  • CRLT- Engin

  • Engineering Advising Center

  • Technical Communications

  • Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education

We will provide training for successful candidates for content development within our WordPress based websites.  

In this position you will be required to work up to 4 hours/week remotely (on average)

Educational Value

Students will obtain experience in website design, project management, professional teamwork

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS 

  • Skills / coursework in UI/UX

  • Trustworthiness, reliability and accurate timekeeping.

  • Proactive and positive outlook, an interest in learning new skills, good attention to detail, strong work ethic, and good project management skills.

  • Ability to work remotely during the fall and winter term with occasional in-person meetings

  • Ideal candidates will be interested in working with this team for at least a year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with WordPress or other content management systems

  • Experience with Agile development environment and/or KanBan ticket management of tasks. 

Hourly Rate $18.00/hour
