MCard Program Student Associate

Job Summary

This is a part-time, student position focused on providing excellent customer service for the University of Michigan MCard Program. This position serves as a primary point of contact for the university community by resolving inquiries via telephone and email. Additional responsibilities include printing MCards and delivering them, along with other supplies, to campus issuing stations.

Primary tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Customer Service (80%)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer service questions through various communication channels (phone, email, etc).
  • Handle a high volume of inbound calls and emails to resolve customer inquiries.
  • Clearly communicate university policies for all card-related services.

MCard Data & Photo Maintenance (20%)

  • Review and approve MCard photo submissions to ensure compliance with university standards.
  • Assist with data cleanup and accuracy efforts.
  • Perform general clerical tasks as assigned.

 

Educational Value

Developed skills in customer service, adminstrative tasks, problem-solving.

Job Requirements
  • Must be a currently enrolled student at the University of Michigan.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a professional and courteous phone and email etiquette.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to listen, assess issues, and recommend solutions patiently and effectively.
  • Proficient with computers, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn new software and navigate multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when handling account information and transactions.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or call center environment is preferred but not required.

 

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour to $21.00/hour
