Job Description

An entry-level facilities employee could be responsible for a variety of duties to support the efficient operation of the Dental School's facilities. These might include:

  • Routine Inspections: Regularly walk through the building to identify maintenance and custodial issues, such as broken fixtures, cleanliness concerns, or safety hazards, and report them for resolution.
  • Space Setup and Rearrangement: Help with setting up and rearranging furniture for events or department moves, and ensure spaces are restored to their original setup afterward.
  • Supply Management: Monitor and restock supplies for restrooms, break rooms, and office areas as needed.
  • Project Support: Assist in tracking and documenting the progress of small renovation or maintenance projects.
  • Safety Checks: Ensure that fire exits, extinguishers, and other safety equipment are accessible and functioning properly.
Educational Value

The position would provide insight into Facilities Management and day-to-day activities required to support building operations, including submitting maintenance and custodial work requests.
