The Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) is offering a paid employment opportunity for the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 term that is available to all University of Michigan students. Who we’re looking for:We’re looking for a motivated, responsible, and creative student to assist in the creation of a new online MOOC series focusing on JavaScript and the React platform, under the direction of School of Information faculty Steve Oney. Responsibilities: Duties may include some or all of the following: Content creation and revision Assessment creation and revision Quiz creation, testing, and debugging In-Video Quiz (IVQ) creation, testing, and debugging Discussion forum development and organization Video subtitle review and revision Slide creation and review, alongside CAI’s Learning Experience Designer
Required qualifications:Familiarity with HTML and JavaScript (ideally React) Comfort working with the command line/terminal (Optional) familiarity with build tools (e.g., Webpack) (Optional) familiarity with Docker (Optional) familiarity with Coursera Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week to this project
Hours, wage, & dates:Hours: 10-15 hours per week (flexible hours) Pay: Undergraduate $17/hr, Graduate $20/hr, PhD/JD/Postdoc $23/hr Start Date: As soon as possible
