Job Description In this role, you will work closely with our experienced engineers to design, develop, and implement electromechanical solutions that address real-world challenges. The engineer will perform mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and tooling for high precision positioning/motion stages. This is a 20-25 hour/week role, with at least 12 hour/week on-site at our facility located at 333 Jackson Plaza, Ann Arbor, MI. Responsibilities - Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and tooling for high-precision positioning and motion stages.
- Conduct design reviews; manage prototype procurement and vendor relationships.
- Testing, system integration, and stage servo tuning.
- Test and qualify stages to meet performance and reliability requirements.
- Create assembly procedures, documentation, and user guides to support transfer to manufacturing.
- Perform analyses and simulations, including structural and vibration analysis and motor current/voltage/power calculations.
- Collaborate with controls and systems engineering teams.
This position is subject to U.S. export control regulations (e.g., ITAR/EAR) and requires a U.S. person as defined by U.S. law (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other person permitted under ITAR 22 CFR 120.15) We are looking for a candidate interested in growing with the company, with the goal of moving into a permanent full-time role when an opening becomes available. |
