Job Description

The Youth Policy Lab is seeking up to four Research Assistants (RAs) to help with our National Cell Phone Policy Project

The research assistant will help:

  • collect and systematize information gathered from websites

  • conduct interviews with school staff to gather information on cell phone policies

  • clean and analyze large datasets, and

  • draft short reports and data visualizations.

A large portion of this work will entail conducting interviews with staff from schools around the country. We are seeking RAs who can commit to approximately 10-15 hours/week. We anticipate RAs will contribute 15-20 hours most weeks through June 2025, with possible extension into the Summer or next year on this or related school policy projects.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • is highly organized,

  • a courteous and professional communicator

  • has experience with qualitative data collection (ex., interviews, focus groups) and analysis (ex., thematic coding)

  •  proficient with Stata and Excel, and has completed statistical coursework.

  • The position is open to undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD students with the requisite interests and skills.

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour to $18.00/hour
