GINSBERG CENTER MARKETING COORDINATOR (Doctoral Students Only) Job Description The Edward Ginsberg Center, Michigan's civic and community engagement center, is seeking a doctoral student to coordinate the Center’s marketing, communication, and storytelling to support and increase engagement with our stakeholders and showcase the Center’s impact. This role is responsible for overseeing digital marketing, social media content, and visual marketing of the Center. Job Duties Assist in the strategy and planning of Center-wide marketing campaigns to promote community engagement opportunities and celebrate the work of Ginsberg Center. Ensure implementation of marketing strategies and brand identity across the spectrum of marketing activities at GC Utilize project management tools to coordinate the scheduling of content across formats and platforms (ex: social, web, newsletters, promotions) and to coordinate the completion of marketing projects. Train and support student marketing assistants Delegate marketing assignments (ex: storytelling, social media, blog posts, newsletters design, photography) and ensure that work is completed in a timely manner. Supervise student marketing staff and serve as a backup to complete assignments when necessary Coordinate website updates and maintenance of central website pages Regularly communicate with Ginsberg Center’s professional staff to develop story ideas and gather information on Center initiatives that need marketing support. Evaluate feedback on communications and make process improvements as needed. Evaluate available data (ex: clicks, likes, page visits, event attendance) and make recommendations to increase engagement.

Job Requirements |
Required Qualifications U-M doctoral student, from any academic discipline Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to: accomplish multiple tasks autonomously, complete tasks by deadline, develop clear project plans and timelines, and anticipate potential issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including: a comfort in sharing ideas with others, asking questions, seeking feedback, and proactively communicating with supervisors and professional staff. Demonstrated experience with written communication for a variety of audiences, such as blogs, newsletters or social media. Proficiency with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Meta, and best practices for content creation and engagement. Experience with website content management systems, and/or project management tools (ex: Asana). Strong writing and proofreading skills. Ability to work quickly in a deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work in a team-based setting and with diverse groups. Ability to develop clear documentation and provide clear instructions to others. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with professional and undergraduate student staff.
