GINSBERG CENTER STUDENT MARKETING ASSISTANT Job Description The Edward Ginsberg Center is seeking an experienced and creative student to develop marketing materials for use across the Center. Student will support the Center’s professional staff by developing compelling, timely, and engaging content that promotes our events/programs, highlights our impacts, and strengthens our brand across campus and beyond. Students with a background or interest in communications, marketing, business, information, design, and/or journalism are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include: Draft and complete engaging marketing content for newsletters, social media and other projects in order to promote community engagement opportunities and celebrate the work of Ginsberg Center. Utilize project management tools to document progress and completion of assigned tasks, and track input and feedback from staff. Generate ideas for marketing and design content across a range of formats and platforms, such as: social media, website, digital signs, flyers, & reports, slide decks, infographics, promotional materials. Regularly communicate with staff to gather information on Ginsberg Center events, initiatives, and partnerships. Communicate with staff to gather input and feedback on marketing projects. Monitor and engage with our digital/ social media audience to foster a sense of community and responsiveness. Coordinate with professional staff and marketing team to implement Ginsberg Center’s existing graphic style & identity, as established in our Brand Book and Style Guide. Photography assignments at Ginsberg events across U-M and in the community, for use in marketing materials

Job Requirements |
Required Qualifications: We will consider students who have many or all of the following qualifications. If you don’t have all of them, you can still apply! Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including: a comfort in sharing ideas with others, asking questions, seeking feedback, and proactively communicating with supervisors and professional staff Strong writing and proofreading skills Ability to work quickly in a deadline-oriented environment Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to: accomplish multiple tasks autonomously, complete tasks by deadline, develop clear project plans, and anticipate potential issues. Ability to incorporate stakeholder feedback to develop final products Experience creating short form digital content (ex: social media posts, promotional content, newsletters) or long-form digital content (ex: blog posts, profiles, stories, reports, articles). Examples of previous work are a plus. Proficiency with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Meta, and best practices for content creation and engagement. Examples of previous work are a plus. Some experience with basic graphic design (ex: Canva, which is used at Ginsberg Center). Examples of previous work are a plus. Experience taking photos for social media and basic photo and/or video editing skills for social media. Examples of previous work are a plus.

Work Location |
Work some in person hours at Ginsberg Center and some remote hours, determined by the Center's need. Occasional travel to on-campus events and off-campus local events. Some weekend/evening availability may be needed.
