Job Description

The Digital Studies Institute is hiring a Program Assistant to support the management and creation of podcast content for its digital communication platforms. This position supports a collaborative podcast series focused on disability arts and technoculture, featuring interviews with disabled artists, poets, designers, and technologists.

Primary duties include editing audio and video content for publication, assisting with script development and recorded conversations, supporting marketing and digital content production (including social media graphics, flyers, and Mailchimp newsletters), and incorporating accessibility best practices into all public-facing materials.

Educational Value

This position provides hands-on experience in podcast production, audio and video editing, digital communications, and accessibility-focused content creation. Students will develop skills in editorial workflows, digital storytelling, project coordination, accessibility best practices, and professional communication within a collaborative academic environment.

Job Requirements

Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate:

  • Interest in disability culture, digital accessibility, digital publishing, podcasting, or online communication

  • Experience writing, editing, or managing digital or web content

  • Experience with video editing and social media platforms

  • Familiarity with Canva and audio editing software such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or GarageBand
