The MI-Support program within the Michigan Public Health Integrated Center for Outbreak Analytics and Modeling (MICOM), housed in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, is seeking an independent and motivated Data Analyst Intern to join our team during Summer 2026. MICOM co-Directors Drs. Marisa Eisenberg and Emily Martin and their colleagues have an active research program to integrate mathematical modeling with community-based surveillance to understand various facets of public health. The ideal candidate for this internship will be a current master’s student in a public health degree program with an interest in both advanced analytic techniques and public health operations at the local level. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that build analytical capacity within local health departments – units which, when taken together, represent the majority of the American public health workforce. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 10-week internship during which interns will work at least 3 days per week in-person at the School of Public Health. Work performed during the course of this internship satisfies the “non-academic public health partner” criterion of the MPH APEx requirement. |
