Job Description |
The Program Assistant will play a key role in supporting community-engaged research and programming in the RISE Lab, with a primary focus on Double Digits, a strengths-based, identity-centered puberty and development program for 4th–5th grade girls implemented in schools and community settings. This position combines hands-on program facilitation, administrative coordination, and research support. The Program Assistant will work closely with graduate students, faculty, community partners, and undergraduate research assistants, gaining practical experience at the intersection of psychology, education, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Include: Supporting the facilitation and implementation of Double Digits sessions in school and community settings Assisting with program logistics, scheduling, materials preparation, and evaluation activities Supporting community outreach efforts, including identifying potential partner sites and assisting with onboarding processes Providing administrative and organizational support for RISE Lab projects, including: Ordering and tracking lab and program supplies Assisting with online survey development, data collection, and data management Maintaining accurate project records, participant tracking, and documentation Supporting recruitment and coordination of research participants Assisting with preparation of grant applications and reports Helping maintain the RISE Lab website and communication materials
Supporting and coordinating the work of undergraduate research assistants, as appropriate

Job Requirements |
Required QualificationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Clear written and verbal communication skills Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively on a team Reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn Interest in child development, psychology, education, public health, social work, or community-based work
Preferred (But Not Required) QualificationsCoursework in psychology, education, sociology, public health, or related fields Experience working with children, youth, families, or in community or school settings (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) Familiarity with basic research activities (e.g., surveys, data entry, IRB-guided projects) Experience with or willingness to learn tools such as: Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics) Website or content management tools
Interest in research focused on identity development, equity, or community-engaged scholarship
Additional ExpectationsAbility to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical research guidelines Availability during some daytime hours to support program delivery or meetings (schedule flexible around classes) Ability to travel locally to community or school sites, when needed (if applicable)
