Job Description

Work-Study Position: Detroit Initiative Course Assistant. The Detroit Initiative in Psychology would like to hire a Work-Study eligible student for work as a community liaison between the Detroit Initiative undergraduate psychology courses and the community-based organizations in Detroit where students are placed. The Course Assistant will assist the program coordinator and instructors in overall program management.

Duties will include meeting with representatives from organizations in Detroit to set up and maintain undergraduate internships, orienting students to the internship, monitoring student performance, and identifying any internship related concerns. They will also assist with program outreach, representing the program at campus events, and related duties.

Job Requirements

Qualifications include: good written and verbal communication, well organized, dependable, understanding of community programs, ability to keep accurate records, and ability to work well with others. A valid driver’s license is required. Most work will be conducted remotely and working hours are flexible.
