True to the Center for Entrepreneurship’s belief in learning-by-doing, the Communications and Journalism Internship offers students hands-on, professional experience in communications, marketing, and storytelling. Funded by the National Science Foundation and housed within the Center for Entrepreneurship, the Great Lakes I-Corps Hub serves the Midwest with a mission to transform university research into real-world impact. We are seeking a motivated student passionate about storytelling to help craft compelling content that highlights the success and impact of the I-Corps program while expanding our online presence. The intern will report directly to Christopher Eakin, Marketing and Communications Specialist for the NSF I-Corps Hub: Great Lakes Region, and will work closely with the I-Corps team to develop written content supporting the I-Corps program. This position is primarily virtual, with limited in-person attendance required for select events throughout the year. Key Responsibilities Research and write articles, blog posts, and success stories featuring I-Corps teams, faculty, and program outcomes Draft press releases and promotional materials for program announcements and events Create engaging content for social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns Assist in developing newsletters and website content Conduct interviews with program participants and stakeholders Support content planning and editorial calendars Track engagement metrics and assist with reporting on communications impact
