Job Description

The Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented graduate student to assist with research and project support for the Director of the Center. The Director works with U-M Administrators, faculty, community partners, donors, and others to advance community-engaged learning and university-community partnerships toward social change. Job tasks conducting and synthesizing research for summary reports, conducting benchmarking of other higher ed institutions, conducting and drafting literature reviews, and other duties as assigned.

Students will be able to expand their skills in a number of areas: organization, research, communication, and translating findings for different audiences while learning about community engagement, university-community partnerships and higher education.

Job Requirements
  • U-M doctoral student, from any academic discipline

  • Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to: accomplish multiple tasks autonomously, complete tasks by deadline, develop clear project plans and timelines, and anticipate potential issues. 

  • Demonstrated experience with written communication for research, professional reports or communications with senior leaders. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including: a comfort in sharing ideas with others, asking questions, seeking feedback, and proactively communicating with supervisors and professional staff

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills

Hourly Rate $20.00/hour to $22.00/hour
Hours 5.0 to 10.0 hours per week
