LSA OPPORTUNITY HUB ALUM ENGAGEMENT INTERN Apply Here: https://umich.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aaSr4tCBDrRK27s Who We Are:The LSA Opportunity Hub is a transformative career exploration center that helps students connect their liberal arts and sciences education to their aspirations and professional paths. Hub Interns play a crucial role in our office, as they're responsible for daily operations and ambitious projects that drive forward our mission and strategic plan. They exemplify our commitment to closing the opportunity gap through paid internships and support the cultivation of a diverse workforce. The perspectives of Hub Interns are integral to our ability to promote access and equity in career pursuits. ALUM ENGAGEMENT INTERN Alum Engagement (AE) & Mentorship Support (65%) Support the alum recruitment process for events and opportunities for mentorship. Plan and attend alum engagement events (in-person and virtual) and support the facilitation of activities and discussion. Manage assigned projects leveraging the Hub’s multiple platforms, such as ClickUp, LSA Connect, LSA Engage, and Canvas. Draft and deliver communication between students and the AE team, including responding to emails, posting announcements on Canvas, and developing newsletters. Draft communication for internal and external audiences, such as alums and campus partners. Review and track data across Alum Engagement events, programs, and platforms.
Navigation Services Delivery (30%) Hospitality: Triage guests at the Navigation Desk and create a welcoming atmosphere for all LSA Building & Hub guests Ambassadorship: Provide information and resources to LSA departments and units, current and prospective students, alums, and employers via assistance with Hub events Data Collection: Deliver service evaluation assessment to students and document guest engagement to inform Hub programming improvements
Intern Program Administrative Work (5%) Attend Intern Cohort meetings and professional development sessions during the academic year Complete Work & Development Planning journal Identify and execute individual professional development Support Hub Outreach via staffing at tabling events, creation of social media content, etc Fulfill additional job trainings on an as needed basis

Job Requirements |
Who You Are:Someone who: Will be a current U-M student in the 26-27 academic year Has experience or has demonstrated commitment to serving the diverse interests and backgrounds of LSA students Has an awareness of resources that contribute to LSA student success (advising units, mentorship programming, organizations that facilitate connections to internships, etc) Has experience working or demonstrates a desire to work in collaborative environments, where communication and adaptability are essential to being an active team member Demonstrate a strong desire to learn and grow, even if you don't meet every requirement
Requirements for Employment: If hired, you will be required to: provide evidence of authorization to work in the United States. complete a mandatory self-guided virtual training during August 2026. attend a mandatory on-campus training the week of August 24, 2026. attend weekly intern training sessions on Tuesdays from 4-6pm. attend the annual Intern Program Celebration in April 2027. work 12-15 hours per week, mainly during Hub business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm ET) complete the Work & Development Planning Process and conduct regular performance check-ins with your supervisor. complete professional development activities. maintain “Good Academic Standing” according to the university’s most recent record
