About the Internship
We seek a high-achieving individual who is thoughtful and analytical, with interests and experiences in health policy analysis. This is a part-time paid internship, with flexible start and end dates, for a graduate student who has completed at least one year of coursework in public policy or public health. The work will be focused on relevant, timely health policy issues. The intern will be responsible for elements of health policy and research projects that align with the mission of the Center for Health and Research Transformation (CHRT).
 
The following functions are in the scope of the internship:
Research and analyze health policy issues related to: social determinants of health and health equity; access to care; health care costs and utilization of services; behavioral health (both mental health and substance use); integration of health and social services; systems change, insurance coverage (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance) and the uninsured; public health practice; among others.
Conduct analyses by employing landscape analyses, literature reviews, survey or claims data analyses (primary or secondary) and qualitative data analyses. The intern will also support CHRT policy analysts and directors in broader analyses.
Present or write results of analyses. Draft issue/policy briefs, reports, and summary documents for both internal and external audiences.
Educational Value

Develop expertise in researching and analyzing current health policy issues, including health equity, access to care, and behavioral health.
Build practical skills through hands-on data analysis, literature reviews, and support for broader health policy research projects.
Enhance professional communication by drafting issue briefs, reports, and presenting findings to varied audiences.
Gain mentorship, professional networking, and exposure to real-world policy work with CHRT's team of analysts and directors.

Job Requirements
Qualifications for Preferred Intern Candidates
Obtaining Master’s degree in public policy or public health with a focus on health policy
Knowledge of key health policy issues
Experience with health data sources or experience with health care research or other analytic methodologies
Excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Hourly Rate $23.00/hour
Hours 29.0 hours per week
