Join our Camp Liberty team for a fun and rewarding summer! We’re looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and reliable counselors to make a difference in the lives of Ann Arbor children. Camp runs from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday from June 15th to August 21st. Our counselors will lead, plan, and engage a small group of campers between Young 5s and 5th grade through all our daily activities. Camp Liberty is located at Liberty Athletic Club on the west side of Ann Arbor. Liberty Athletic Club is located on 12 acres with state-of-the-art fitness training areas, tennis courts, swimming pools, and an indoor jungle gym for kids. All counselors receive a summer club membership, plus a discount on all club services, snacks, and beverages from our cafe.
Responsibilities:
Builds connections with campers and colleagues
Supervise campers to maintain a safe and inclusive camp environment
Assist in planning and organizing games, crafts, and activities for campers
Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an enjoyable experience for all campers and staff members
Engage in swimming, group games, and play in the indoor jungle gym with campers
Encourage sportsmanship, kindness, and equity throughout camp
Help campers with lunch and snacks
Support general athletic club rules and guidelines
Set up and cleans up camp spaces daily
Participate in camp training and monthly meetings
Communicate all vacations and time off needed to the Camp Director in a timely manner
Essential Functions of the Job. Ability to:
Be outside prolonged periods of time in the sun
Communicates with diverse groups of children
Walk, run, jump, and swim confidently and safely
Engage young children with enthusiasm for long periods of time
Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 20 lbs
Position Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to work a minimum of 18 hours a week |
