Opening Statement of Position:

The ITS Infrastructure Network Operations team provides data services to the Ann Arbor Campus. We are looking for a person to assist in cleaning data network devices and light maintenance of the data nodes located in various areas of the campus. The position will also require accurately entering information into a database. Transportation to these areas will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the cleaning of data network devices
• Assist with basic testing and maintenance of data nodes as set forth in our procedures and protocols
• Label cables and equipment per specified requirements
• Document labeling, location, software loads, and all other required information of the data-networking node into the appropriate database
• Assist with basic testing and maintenance of data nodes as set forth in our procedures and protocols
• Other tasks as assigned

• Experience and knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
• Ability to meet the requirements of driving a U-M vehicle and have a valid driver's license with fewer than 7 points
• Ability to move telecommunication equipment and supplies weighing up to 30lbs from trucks and loading docks to campus locations for installation or to clean around equipment in data nodes
• 1 year of experience in accurately entering information into spreadsheets and databases
• Ability to quickly learn data network procedures and protocols for documentation, testing, and maintenance in data nodes
• Must be punctual and have good attendance
• Ability to follow procedures and protocols with attention to detail
