Be a UMICH Votes Fellow for the Fall 2026 election cycle!

As a UMICH Votes Fellow, you’ll play a critical role in supporting voter participation on campus. You’ll be part of a cohort of 20 Fellows working together to welcome students at the Campus Voting Hubs. You’ll provide non-partisan resources and guidance for eligible voters, whether they plan to vote in Ann Arbor (on-site with our City Clerk) or in their home districts.

 Logistics: 
— Attend 5-6 training and cohort meetings. These will likely be a mix of whole group meetings across the Fall semester: early September, before opening, midway check-in, and after the election

— Work 5-10 hours per week in the Campus Voting Hubs as a non-Partisan voting process resource for visitors

— Fellows will need to complete the university's standard student employment process.

Job Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES - what would you do?

Participate in pre-election training and regular cohort meetings. 

Work 5-10 hours per week once the Campus Voting Hubs are open (late September/early October through the Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026).

Create a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll greet visitors to these non-partisan civic spaces and orient them to the voting process, here in Ann Arbor or elsewhere.

Provide accurate non-partisan guidance to your peers. You’ll learn about registration and voting rules so that you can guide voters to accurate, non-partisan resources. 

Help visitors celebrate voting. You’ll contribute to the positive social energy around voting and the sense of accomplishment from participation. 

Connect your campus communities and organizations to accurate, non-partisan voting resources.

Payment:
—$18/hr including training and cohort meetings

Please note that UMICH Votes Fellows positions are not eligible for work-study.
