Job Description

The Theater Event Supervisor will work as assistant to the Theater Manager/Cultural Arts Program Specialist to provide theater event supervision for school and community groups using the Saline Area Schools district theater spaces, auditorium equipment maintenance and inventory, production set-up, and technical problem solving.

Educational Value
Job Requirements

Must have practical working knowledge of theater sound, lighting, and rigging systems and experience in common stage management practices. Able to lift at least 35 lbs

Preferred Experience
Experience working in a school setting with administrators and school staff is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Ability to technically problem solve in high pressure situations.
  • Mentor and provide leadership for young theater technicians.
  • Provide excellent customer service while working collaboratively with the Theater Manager Communicate with students, staff, administrators, and community members.
  • Oversee pre-production technical set up for events.
  • Open up and closing down theater spaces for clients.
  • Train and supervise high school and college ages student technical crews throughout rehearsals and performances.
  • Some front of house management, under the direction of the Theater Manager.

  • Organize and coordinate work.

  • Communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
  • Demonstrate exemplary attendance and punctuality.
Hours 15.0 to 20.0 hours per week
Compensation $18.00/hour to $20.00/hour
When Job is Available Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer
Start Date ASAP
End Date We run year around, so when the student graduats they typically leave.
