The educational value of this position includes gaining hands-on experience in qualitative research, working in a professional setting, and transforming data into actionable information supporting the development of campus data strategy. The candidate will strengthen core qualitative research competencies—including designing and refining interview guides, recruiting participants, conducting semi-structured interviews and facilitating focus groups, producing high-quality field notes and transcripts, and completing initial thematic coding using industry-standard tools (e.g., NVivo or MAXQDA). Through regular team debriefs and stakeholder engagement with faculty, staff, and administrators across academic and administrative units, the candidate will also develop professional skills in project management, ethical and consistent data collection (including IRB and data privacy practices as applicable), and translating qualitative findings into actionable recommendations. The experience culminates in contributing to written and presentation deliverables. |
