PEIKERT UNDERGRADUATE FELLOWSHIP at the BENTLEY HISTORICAL LIBRARY As home to one of the most storied college athletics traditions and the finest archive of intercollegiate athletics in the country, the Bentley Historical Library is committed to acquiring, preserving and making accessible the documents that tell the story of Michigan sports. This undergraduate student internship is focused on working to further the preservation of the library’s born-digital collections as they relate to the University of Michigan’s Athletics department. The intern will be embedded in the work of the Curation Team and University Archives and Records Program, which will include a focus on: Assisting with a project to migrate content off of removable media. Conducting a large analog project with unprocessed athletics materials. Conducting research in the archives related to significant moments in the history of the University of Michigan Athletics. Assist with updates to the Bentley Historical Library’s statistical records and databases. Contributing to the Bentley Historical Library’s Collections Magazine and social media accounts
Internship DetailsThe Undergraduate Peikert Fellowship is only open to current University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) students. When: The internship will run eight weeks through the summer of 2025. Weekly schedule and start date are flexible and can be determined after a student is selected. Hours: The hours per week for this position are 20-40, through the summer Location: The internship will be located on-site at the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan How to apply: Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and two references.
