Job Summary The Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design is looking for a motivated and skilled individual to join Stamps Gallery’s team as an Installation Assistant. This is a temporary part-time position where you will work on exhibition changeovers and preparation that last from two to six weeks all year round. The Installation Assistant will report to the Exhibition Coordinator Preparator, and Stamps Gallery Director. You will assist with the installation and de-installation of exhibitions, following best practices. This job is onsite at the Stamps Gallery, 201 S. Division St., Ann Arbor, MI. Responsibilities - Prepare, install and de-install objects of all media (2D, 3D, new media, and installations) for exhibition
- Crate, pack, and unpack art for storage, transportation, and exhibitions
- Help with transportation and storage of artwork before the installation and follow de-installation
- Install digital, multimedia, and other tech-intensive works and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise
- Execute assigned projects, create a plan and implement
- Fabricate and construct mounts and conduct minor cleaning
- Assist with special projects and events
