Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides compassionate, high-quality care to patients on hospice services, supporting them through their end-of-life journey with dignity and respect. This is a traveling position, visiting patients wherever they call home. Working closely with the nursing team and interdisciplinary staff, the CNA delivers personal care, comfort, and emotional support that enhances quality of life for both patients and their families. Key Responsibilities *Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. *Provide mobility assistance, including safe use of lifts and equipment. *Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. *Document care in the EMR promptly and thoroughly. *Collaborate with the team to follow individualized care plans. *Support patients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s or dementia. *Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families. *Protect patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. Educational Value

This position offers hands-on clinical experience in hospice and end-of-life care, providing students with a unique opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world healthcare setting. CNAs will develop essential skills in patient care, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration while working closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Students will gain exposure to a wide range of care environments, including private homes, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities, enhancing adaptability and critical thinking. The role also deepens understanding of chronic illness, aging, dementia care, and the psychosocial aspects of patient and family support.

Additionally, this position strengthens professional competencies such as documentation, time management, ethical decision-making, and compassionate care delivery. Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements * Active CNA certification and BLS certification required. * Hospice experience preferred; long-term or home care experience a plus. But not required. *Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented with strong communication skills. *Comfortable traveling to patients’ across the service area. *Excellent reliability and understanding of the family’s role in hospice care. *Reliable transportation License/Certification: CNA (Required) Willingness to travel: 100% (Required) Work Location: On the road

Hours 5.0 to 29.0 hours per week
Compensation $18.00/hour to $22.00/hour
